Philosophy
Lemogang teaches philosophy at Nelson Mandela University as the first womxn of colour to receive tenure in the Department of Philosophy. She holds an MA in Philosophy from Rhodes University and was the first Black recipient of the Trevor Cohen Philosophy Prize as a graduate student (2018). She is currently a (2024) Marc Sanders Foundation Philosophy in Media Fellow.
Lemo has worked to transform academic philosophy through various projects, most recently as a Grassroots International Organiser for Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) International, and subsequently founded MAP Africa: with the mission of addressing structural injustices and removing barriers to participation in academic philosophy for members of marginalised groups.
Her current research is on archival philosophy, and the intersection between Indigenous Southern African languages, literature, and phenomenology.
